Meshy's Annual Revenue Tops $100 Million in Under Two Years

AI 3D generation company Meshy announced that its annualized recurring revenue (ARR) has surpassed $100 million. By the company's own account, that figure stood at just $1 million less than two years ago — a roughly hundredfold increase — and Meshy says it is the first AI 3D company to cross that threshold.

What Meshy does is straightforward: a user types a line of text or uploads an image, and within about a minute gets a textured 3D model that can be imported directly into a game engine or sent off for 3D printing. The company was founded by Ethan Hu, is headquartered in Silicon Valley, and launched its first public generative-3D product in 2023.

Where the users and the money are coming from

The company's disclosed numbers: more than 15 million registered users, over 3,000 enterprise and educational customers — including teams from 200 Fortune Global 500 companies — and half of the world's ten most valuable companies by market cap reportedly use its tools. The platform has generated more than 100 million 3D models in total.

On the funding side, Meshy closed a roughly $400 million Series B round this past July at a $1.5 billion valuation, which the company calls the largest funding round in AI 3D to date. Faye Pan, the company's VP of Growth, said in the announcement:

"Surpassing $100 million in ARR in under two years reflects the growing demand for AI-powered 3D creation."

It's worth noting that ARR is a self-reported metric, typically calculated by multiplying a given month's recurring revenue by 12 — it is not audited annual revenue. Meshy has not disclosed its number of paying users, nor the split between enterprise and individual subscriptions.

A few product launches from September

Around the time of the revenue announcement, Meshy shipped a cluster of releases in September. Meshy 7.1 raised geometry-generation resolution from 2048³ to 4096³, which the company is branding Ultra 4K. A mobile app launched simultaneously on iOS and Android, turning photos, sketches, or text into printable, textured 3D assets, with AR preview, printability checks, and export to STL, GLB, FBX, OBJ, USDZ, and 3MF.

On the printing side, Meshy has integrated with printer brands including Prusa, Creality, Elegoo, Flashforge, and xTool. On the gaming side, the company says production time for complex character assets can be cut by 30 to 40 percent, and its own AI-native game, Black Box: Infinite Arsenal, is slated to appear at this year's Steam Next Fest. There's also a research project called Mora, aimed at real-time, interactive world generation.

General-purpose foundation models are encroaching on this territory too. GPT-6 Astra can manipulate Blender models directly, and a comparison test by QbitAI found it performs well on geometric and parametric tasks like walls and staircases, but falls short of specialized models when it comes to details like character hair and facial features.

What it means for Chinese companies

This is not unfamiliar territory for Chinese companies. This outlet has previously reported that VAST, which builds 3D foundation models, became an AI unicorn after a funding round, and major players like Tencent Hunyuan also have their own 3D generation models. Among the printer brands Meshy has integrated with, Creality, Flashforge, and Elegoo are all Shenzhen-based manufacturers — the hardware supply chain for consumer 3D printing is already concentrated in China.

For Chinese game studios and printer makers, Meshy's numbers offer a reference point: overseas markets are willing to pay subscription fees for turning text into models, at a scale that reaches hundreds of millions of dollars. Most domestic counterparts don't disclose comparable revenue figures, so whether they can follow a similar paying-willingness curve remains an open question, with no comparable data available. The company's announcement did not address whether Meshy's app is available in Chinese app stores or offers Chinese-language service.
