ChatGPT Adds Job Search and Resume Editing

ChatGPT is moving from career advice into the job application flow itself. Starting June 1, US users can search for open roles inside ChatGPT, with listings sourced from Indeed, Upwork, Appcast and broader web results.

The listings are ranked against the user’s experience, skills and location preferences, and each result points back to the original application page. Alongside that, OpenAI added a resume tool that can revise an uploaded resume or create one from scratch for a specific role, then export a polished PDF.

The boundaries matter. Job search is US-only for now, but it is available across Free, Go, Plus and Pro. The resume feature is broader: global English web users can access it regardless of paid tier.

This is also a preview of the OpenAI Jobs Platform, which OpenAI previously said would launch around mid-2026 under Fidji Simo’s application business. If ChatGPT becomes the place where people write resumes, match roles and prove AI skills, LinkedIn and Indeed face a new kind of entry point into recruiting.
