The company wants to reverse-engineer the brain’s efficiency rather than keep scaling GPUs. It studies cortical columns and aims to build Cortex AI, a synthetic intelligence system targeting the human brain’s compute capacity, learning efficiency and 20-50 watt power budget.

The bet is early and risky. Flourish has no product or revenue, and neuromorphic computing has disappointed before. But as AI data centers consume more electricity and water, investors are willing to fund any credible path to much lower-power intelligence.
